Looking for inspiration during your test ride? We've teamed up with David Flanagan, cyclist and author of Cycling in Ireland, to highlight some of the best routes around Dublin.

Blackrock and Dalkey Coast Loop
Distance: 21.2km
Route Highlights:
- From the village of Blackrock this route takes advantage of the excellent bike lanes that run along the coast
- It’s a short diversion off the route to take a dip in the famous Forty Foot Climbing through the salubrious suburbs of Dalkey and Killiney you get excellent views of Dublin Bay.
- Turning inland, you return to the start via a series of greenways through Clonkeen and Rockfield Park.
Café Stop: Too many to mention, at the start in Blackrock there are numerous options, with plenty of choice in Dalkey village which you pass through one third of the way into the route.

Hazelhatch to Sallins via the Grand Canal
Distance: 15.1km
Route Highlights:
- Reach the start of this route easily from the city by train
- Enjoy the excellent flat towpath as it makes its way along the bank of the Grand Canal
- At Sallins, either retrace your steps, take the train back to the start or continue further along the canal
Café Stop: The Pantry at Cliff at Lyons is perfectly positioned at the midway point for a coffee stop. Plenty of nice places to get something to eat in Sallins as well.

Dublin Mountains Loop
Distance: 18.6km
Route Highlights:
- This route, which starts in Marlay Park, does a loop around the northernmost of the Dublin Mountains.
- After a gentle start the clockwise loop starts to climb up the notoriously steep Woodside Road, but that’s where the ebike comes into its own!
- As you gain height, the views over the city improve, and you pass the Blue Light pub
- The climbing eases and quiet country roads lead to Johnnie Fox’s.
- It’s a gentle spin through the Glencullen Valley, it’s hard to believe you are only a stone’s throw from the city, before a steep descent down Cruagh Road brings you back to Marlay Park.
Café Stop: After 8km, with the majority of the climbing behind you, you pass the famous Johnnie Fox’s pub, a great spot for a cold drink after all your exertions
