What is the cycle-to-work Irish Government Scheme?

Cycle-to-work is a Government tax incentive aimed at encouraging employees to use bikes for cycling to work. It covers bicycles and accessories up to €1,000. If employee is on the top rate tax and full €1,000 is spent, a saving of €470 can be made.
The employer will also benefit in that employer’s PRSI is not payable on the cost of the bicycle and/or safety equipment.
